Saco, New Hampshire

Saco Lake Bath House is situated just off of the main trail in a sloping, wooded forest overlooking a lake. Large concrete slabs pull in hikers and travelers while directing or blocking their view, isolating different parts of the landscape. Gaps and misalignments in the concrete let light into the spaces, with greater amounts of light in the more public spaces. Wood is used to frame the apertures that introduce light, with heavy wooden fins being used to enclose the three primary pools.
